4-Star Shape Math Lesson Reflection

Amna Alaa taught a math lesson on star shapes to kindergarten students. She aimed to help students categorize and name 2D shapes like circles, triangles, squares, and rectangles, as well as recognize stars. While using a big tent engaged the students, her circle time ran long at over 15 minutes, which caused boredom and fidgeting among the students. For future lessons, she plans to improve time management and reduce circle time.

SWC Lesson Reflection

The lesson I taught kindergarten 1 students was a math lesson (Star shape) My learning

outcome for the lesson was that students will be able to categorize and name various

two-dimensional shapes, including circle, triangle, square, and rectangle and to

recognizing the 2D shape star. I think I did a good job when I engaged the students using

the big tent because they were so excited to go inside it and to see what’s inside. One

aspect didn’t go well; I took more than 15 minutes in the circle time which made the

students feel bored and moved from their places. When I will teach next time, I will

make sure to reduce the time in the circle time and to have time management.
