Assalamualaikum and good evening to all. My name is Rasyiqah binti Abd Razak, a final year cpe student
under the supervision of Dr. Ali. today, I will present on my final year project titled ‘Upflow Anaerobic
Sludge Blanket (UASB) Reactor for The Treatment of Municipal Wastewater Sludge’.

Slide No. 2

Wastewater treatment uses sludge for the treatment of wastewater. When the time comes,
sludge will be removed from the system to avoid the accumulation in the treatment tank. The sludge will
need to be treated before it is disposed in landfill or used for other purposes. Sludge is defined as the
solid, semisolid, or slurry residual material that is produced as a by-product of wastewater treatment
processes. In order to treat the sludge, anaerobic digestor is one of the method to stabilized the sludge.

The UASB reactor is a single tank process in which influent enters the reactor from the bottom,
and flows upward. A suspended sludge blanket filters and treats the wastewater as the wastewater flows
through it.
