The way you structure your OET writing should be according to:

1. Introductory sentence
2. The main issue
3. The secondary issue
4. Any other details
5. The request

Task

1. Referral letter
2. Transfer letter
3. Discharge letter
4. Letter to advice or inform patient, carrer or group

Scoring

1. Complete the task


2. Appropriate language
3. Understand the case
4. Grammar and structure
5. Spelling and punctuation

Note:

 If the doctor knows the patient don’t include the medical history
 Referral letter relevant to the profession
 Transform the case note in your own sentence
 Most important information prioritized eg. Heart attack

 Main medical issue plus reason of writing (request)

Organized logically (two types)

 By importance
 First paragraph- main issue
 Second paragraph- secondary issue
 Single theme each paragraph
 By time-chronologically

Appropriate language
