Q.1 (a) Explain different phases of microbial growth and draw neat sketch of it. 07
(b) Explain with neat sketch DO sag curve and write stricter Phelp’s equation. 07

(b) Explain 1st stage BOD and derive its formula with usual notations 07

(b) During BOD test conducted on a 5% dilution of waste, the following 07
observations were taken (i) DO of aerated water used for dilution = 3.6mg/l
(ii) DO of original sample = 0.8mg/l.(iii) DO of diluted sample after 5 day
incubation = 0.7 mg/l
