Ar. Ankita Singh, recently joined Noida International University in April 2018 as
Assistant Professor. She has field and academic experience and is a graduate
from Sushant School of Art and Architecture Gurgaon. Ankita has papers
published to her name in National and International Journals, and one of her
recent papers in under consideration for publication in ITPI journal.

THESIS EXTERNAL JURY
Department of Architecture conducted final year thesis jury on 6th May 2018. A total of 13 students made
successful presentation of their projects. Along with the internal faculty, external Jury members were
invited who are experts from the profession as well as from academics. They critically judged and
reviewed the final thesis of the students and delivered their valuable comments for each project. We are
thankful to Dr. Rajaprakash Purushothaman (Asst. Prof. Senior scale. School of Planning and Architecture,
Delhi) and Ar. Rajendra Kumar (Associate Professor, Sushant School of Art and Architecture, Gurgaon) for
their valuable comments on the design projects, which helped the students understand the potentials and
problems of their projects.
C.O.A INSPECTION 2018
Distinguished Ar. Ravindra Madhav Warrier and Ar. Velamakanni Radhakrishna came to our university as
inspectors for COA inspection on 6th April 2018. They met faculty, staff, students and critically inspected our
infrastructure and exhibitions of students work. COA does this to ensure that the highest standards of
education is imparted; and our inspection was a great success!

To give students an exposure of architecture profession along with the academics, Noida international

WORKSHOPS CONDUCTED
Students of architecture gets ample opportunity to experiment with various building materials and building
construction technology within the Campus itself, in construction yard.
Students in Construction yard where they had a hands on experience in preparing cement mortar and
constructing various bonds, arches, corbelling, and brick jalis; which they studied in construction studio. They
also learned the properties of building materials such as cement, sand and bricks through practical
experiments.
EDUCATIONAL TOURS
In order to understand and learn how buildings are built in a contoured site, students of third year were taken
on an educational tour to Dehradun and Mussorie in November 2017 under the guidance of Prof. Anil Nimesh,
Ar. Shefali Thakur and Ar. Aftab Alam. There they visited Forest Research Institute, a very famous exposed
brick building showcasing Greek, Roman and colonial architecture, and Dehradun Institute of technology.
In Mussorie students studied evoking streetscapes of mall road and vernacular architecture focusing on the
building materials and roof types.

EDUCATIONAL TOURS
It is said that if you are an studying architecture, Chandigarh is one such city you can’t miss. It is a city
which is a modern idiom of architecture and sites beautiful Concrete landmarks and monuments
designed by Master Architect/Planner Le Corbusier. A trip was organized for Second year students
accompanied by Ar. Nazia Khanam and Ar. Ameed to this beautiful city, where they visited Capitol
Complex, Sukhna Lake, Shivalik Hills, Rock Garden and many other exciting places. Students here learned
that Chandigarh city is an epitome to urban planning and houses buildings that are built to human scale.

their peers. Extra curricular activities enable them to utilize this energy in a very positive way
enhancing their overall personality. In NIU, we encourage students to participate in such activities
