Procedure For Hauling and Stringing of Line Pipe The contractor shall be responsible for obtaining hauling permits and authorization from the telated authorities. Pipe shall not be stacked over 4 ( four ) tiers or three meters in height otherwise there is approved by PGN, Pre-Stringing Preparation Works The correct type and quantity of filing and stringing equipment will be avaitable for use in the unloading and line-up of pipes 12 inchi at the ROW (edge of the road) at the time the first loaded ‘ruck leaves from the pipe stock pile point, Before line pipe stringing activities commence, wood blocks, sand-soil bags in enough quantities are obtained and drop-off along edge of the road where stringing activity will be done at points approximately 12 meters apart. This step is ‘done’ with.the truck travelling: forward and stopping to allow a single ‘thing of pipe line up. ‘The action is repeated for each trailer truck transporting line pips until the full Jength of the ROW ‘s lined with the required of pipe. The pipes will be strung or laid at a distance of three (3) until four (4) meters from the edge of the road that is to be dug later. For river or creek crossing the required line pipes will be unloaded and stock piled at the welding station nearby the crossing point where the crossing string or sinkers are fabricated before installation. As the stringing progresses the welding spread can move-in and commence the field welding connection works. The rigger will not be under the load. ‘The truck crane operator or other lifting equipments then lowers the pipe to be laid through arm-down movement until the pipe is laid on top of soil or sand bag before the pipe touches the sand or soil bag, the rigger will pull the tag line a bit but in opposite direction to bring the pipe to position, ‘When the pipe is laid, the riggers unleash the tag lines and the sling from the pipe.
