IN RE: LETTER OF EXPLANATION
(ABSENCE OF INCOME TAX RETURNS)
Greetings!
Sir/Maam:
This serves as my written explanation as to my failure to file Income Tax Returns
with the Bureau of Internal Revenue of the Philippines in relation to my application
for a Tourist VISA for Japan.
The reason is that the last time I was gainfully employed in the Philippines was
during the years 1999-2002 where I worked as a nurse at the Davao Doctors
Hospital. As such, that any of my income tax returns during said time, if there were
any, were filed for and in my behalf by my former employer.
Afterwards, I worked as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) nurse at the United
Kingdom from 2002 up to 2008. Subsequently, I was employed again as a nurse at
Singapore from the year 2010-2016. Being an OFW nurse, I did not have an
opportunity to file an Income Tax Return during said years. Moreover, during the
interim, from 2008-2010, I was unemployed and hence also did not file any Income
Tax Return.
From 2016 up to the present, I am unemployed, hence, I also did not file any Income
Tax Return during this period. During the times that I was unemployed, such as the
present, I am supported by my husband, who is also an OFW currently working at
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, as Corporate Services manager at Rimbunan
Hijau (PNG) Group of Companies.
Also, by this letter, I avow that I have sufficient assets to responsibly cover my
expenses during my entire trip to Japan including the return flights to the Philippines
as well as any and all unforeseen expenses which I may incur during my stay. I also
guarantee that I will dutifully abide by the laws and regulations of the government
of Japan.
Hoping for your expeditious approval of my Japan VISA.
Sincerely,
EMY JOY ORIGENES TENORIO
