INTSRUCTION: ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS

1. Outline and discuss the major common characteristic features of developing countries
that constrain their development prospects drawing practical examples from any southern
African country of your choice.

2. Define the concept of poverty and by so doing justify why the reduction of absolute
poverty may offer favourable prospects to the attainment of sustainable development in
the developing countries of southern Africa.

3. By referring to any country of your choice explain why overpopulation is a myth and not
a reality for development from a developing country perspective. As much as possible
give practical examples from any developing country of your choice.
