Course Description:
This course prepares language teaching professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to design,
implement, and utilize language assessments that are reliable, valid, and ethically-based. In this course is
to improve the language testing and assessment literacy in the field of language education professionals.
Students will understand both the basic theoretical, practical concepts and procedures in language testing
and assessment in the classroom. While learning the concepts for evaluating and structuring language
assessments, students will learn test types and design scoring rubrics. This course actually correlate
assessment procedures into national curriculum in learning a language subject.

Course Goals:
By the end of this course, students will have:
● An understanding of the key concepts and the basic principles of language testing and assessment.
● An awareness of various approaches to language testing and assessment and current issues in the field
of language education.
● An ability to evaluate particular testing or assessment procedures, with particular references to their
purpose and context of use.
● Experience of developing a small-scale test or assessment procedure.

you attend the class.

Course Policy

● Procedure for dealing with academic dishonesty such as cheating, plagiarism, etc. will follow
university guidelines.
● You must attend the class regularly and come on time, if you are late more than 15 minutes you are
considered to be absent.
● Any academic dishonesty may result in failure.
● Attendance is expected except in cases of illness or family emergency. Your class participation will
be based on your attendance and participation in class discussion and group activities. Unexcused
absences will have a negative effect on your grade.
● All work must be handed in by the due dates established; late work receives a grade reduction.
