careful next time”.

Pioneers

Gerald is a 15 years old boy who lives in a small town in the north
of Romania. He goes to the local highschool and has good marks.
The thing that differenciates him from the other kids is his passion
for exploration. When we has 10 years old he would gather with some
friends and “colonise the unknown lands of his town”. By the time he was
12, they finished the most comprehensive map of Springfield I have ever
seen, with points of interests, red zones marking the school and the
places where the teahcers live, and much more.
After finishing the colonization of Springfield, he had in mind a
new, bigger challenge. He would map the nearby forest, a place where he
had never ventured before. So, he gathered the “team” and they all
entered the forest, leaving no notice for their parents to know where
they are.
That was their biggest mistake because, of course, they got lost.
With no signal for their phones, they had to think smart. They all sat
down and started thinking. They left at 10am and the sun was warming
their backs, so that meant in order to go back, they had to go in east.The
next problem was orienting in the woods. They observed that the moss
mostly grew on trees in the north side, so they also deduced where east
was. They were saved!
They decided to be more careful the next time.
