Mr. Kim Dae Hyun

Recruitment Officer
EPIK
#802 191 Jeongjail-ro, Bundang-gu
Gyeonggi-do, 13557
Republic of Korea

Dear Mr. Kim,

I am excited to introduce myself and to apply for the position of an ESL teacher in the English
Program in Korea (EPIK). EPIK is highly recommended to me by Sophia Stevenson, a current
teacher in the program. As a 2019 graduate of Arizona State University, I have earned a
Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Studies. Although I do not have experience in a traditional
classroom, I do have three years teaching experience volunteering at my local literacy council,
Literacy Council Gulf Coast. I have completed training and received certification to teach
English through PrroLiteracy America. I have found tremendous satisfaction in helping students,
both children and adults, improve their English language skills.

The job of teaching students from diverse cultures and languages requires an individual that is
cognizant of those differences and can adjust her approach accordingly. I am confident, that
through my experiences and education, I can effectively create lessons and experiences that will
be meaningful, impactful, and memorable for each student.

The EPIK program aims to improve the English-speaking abilities of Korean students and
teachers. My passion for teaching English as a second language began when I was an exchange
student in high school. As a second language learner myself, I have had an experience that most
other teachers have not. During my year abroad, I progressed from struggling daily to becoming
communicatively competent. Through my experiences and frustrations, I can identify with those
who are learning a second language. With my experience, combined with my course studies, I
am confident I can provide students and teachers with a high-quality English-learning
experiences.

I would love to share my passion, language knowledge, culture, and teaching methods with your
Korean students and teachers. I have already applied to the program and would like to speak to
you further about how I can contribute my skills to your program. You can reach me at
239.287.6791 or email me at mcreak@[Link]. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you
for your consideration.
Sincerely,

Melissa Creak
