CHAPTER 4
DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY
This chapter contains the environment, data analysis tools, project
requirement specifications, design, development, verification, validation
and testing.
Environment
This web application is designed for the registrar, faculty and
students of La Salette of Roxas College Inc. college department.

Locale of the Study
The researchers conducted the capstone project at the La Salette of
Roxas College Inc. College Department at Magsaysay St. Vira, Roxas
Isabela.

Data Analysis tools
The information gathered during the interviews and researches were
used to determine the process and nature of the current system. This
helped the developers to determine the problems and the necessity to
improve the current system. The outcome of interview and discussions
made were converted into system requirements diagrams and charts.

The researchers used the fishbone diagram also called a cause and
effect diagram or Ishikawa diagram, a visualization tool for categorizing
the potential causes of a problem to identify its root causes.
Technical Feasibility
Compatibility checking
The researchers Assessed the project’s technical feasibility, this
includes evaluating the ability of computer hardware and software to
handle workloads, it also checks if the project implementation is practical
or not. This is also to make sure that the web application proposed project
will run on current system or computers of the school. The system unit or
computer system must have a Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 operating system
installed, a processor that has 2.0 GHz or higher specification, at least 2
GB of RAM to handle workloads, 500 GB of hard drive for data storage.
The system unit should also be connected to the internet. For the third-
party software, the computer should have an updated internet browser.
All the technologies aforementioned are available on the office of the
registrar. The users of the web application don’t need technical expertise
to operate the web application, it was design by the developers to be user
friendly and uncomplicated.
Relevance of the Technologies
The technologies stated in the compatibility checking were carefully
chosen based on the current inventory of computer equipment of the office
of the registrar. Since one of the project’s objective is device compatibility,
meaning it can run on any computer and smart mobile devices that is
connected to the internet, the developers design a web application that can
run on minimal hardware and software specification to provide ease of
access for the users.
