resistive load
No. of experiment: 3
AIM :
1. To investigate and learn about the property of rectifier circuit.
2. To learn about the characteristic and property of full wave rectifier filter.
Introduction:
A full wave rectifier is a device which is used to rectify all thealternating
current components in an alternating supply and make it purely a direct
current. The two alternating halvesof an alternation current are rectified
in a full wave rectifierwhich is an advantage over a half wave rectifier.
Mostelectronic devices cannot withstand very high voltage or
alternatingcurrent due to its intense high power. The use of batteriesin all
devices is not practical as their replacement and durability is a huge
problem as the device has to be dismantled each time forsuch a
replacement. So these rectifiers are used in most of the
electronic devices like TVs, Radios, Chargers,and Lightings etc.
theoretical:
The Full Wave Rectifier can be made by using 4 diode and 2 diode. To
make a full wave rectifier with 4 diode, we can use Non-CT Transformator
as shown in picture below :
The power factor of a full-wave bridge rectifier:
When the center-tapped transformer circuit is replaced by a bridge
rectifier as shown below, therms value of the source current is the same
as that of the load current. We expect its powerfactor to be different
than that of the center-tapped transformer. The output voltage and
thecurrents are still the same and so are their effective and average
values. The only difference ison the source side, which now carries the
current at all times
Procedure:
1. Open File ---> New---> Model.
2. Open Simulink Library and browse the components.
3. Connect the components as per circuit diagram.
4. Set the input supply voltage (Vrms = 220 volt & 50 Hz) and the load is (R=10 ).
5. Simulate the circuit using MATLAB.
6. Record the values of the mean and rms values of the output voltage.
7. Record the values of the mean and rms values of the output current.
THEORETICAL RESULT:
Theoretical reults:
Mean and RMS values of the output voltage

a)Draw to scale the input voltage.output voltage and the output current
b)Determine the mean and rms values of the output voltage theoretical.
c)Determine the mean and Rms values of the load current theoretical.
Solution:
a)V peak=220 volt and output=zero (open circuit)
Vdc=Vmean= volt & Vrms= 9.48 volt & output current=20 Amper
b)Vm=Vpeak=200 volt & R=10
Vdc=Vmean=Vm/ 220/ =70.06volt
Vrms=Vm/2 = 220/2 = 110 volt

CONCLUSION
So, the full wave rectifier has been made by using 2 diode and 4 diode.
The function of capasitor was pushed the ripple on AC wave rectifier
process, so the output wave was became the DC wave. When the value of
capasitor was high, the output wave was straight.
