ALUMNI DONATIONS BY
MR PRABHAKARA
Innovation Garage and the student community of NITW would like to thank Mr. Prabhakar
Puvvada for his continuous feedback and support.
Mr.Prabhakar, an alumnusfrom the class of 1980, closely observes the innovation and
maker culture of our college and often finds creative ways to give back to the college.
He has donated equipment to the facility and was key to the IG awards that aim to
encourage innovation in the campus. His suggestions on Facebook have been invaluable
and helped us improve the quality of resources offered to foster the innovation culture.
THANK YOU for making a difference!

DONATION DRIVE
DONATION DRIVE was an initiative taken by IG to make
proper use of things which could have gone into trash, and
thus making a difference. It wasn'tjust limited to books. We
opened doors for Arduinos, breadboards, ICs, electronic and
mechanical components that crossed off our juniors Amazon
account wishlist and brought down their expenses. Filling a
google doc and 5 minutes of their time was all that was
required to accumulate 1 lakh + worth of resources including
100+ books and 20+ electronics.Eventually, we plan to lend
these through a portal.
BANYAN NATION
Another feather in NIT Warangal's cap

haveplayed a tiny role. During
January, Banyan Nation coordinated
with us to participate in 'Innovate for
Digital India Contest'
by DST and Intel. Our students were
invited to T-Hub and worked with Intel
and BN team for around 40 days to
build technology for waste
management.

500,000 (US$7,500) in seed funding.
Thanks to Banyan Nation CEO Mani and
proud of the student team of Archit
Kansal, Ashish Rai and Venkata Sai

project.
Garage gossip is a weekly event which
GARAGE GOSSIP takes place in IG during the weekend.
The main aim of this is to spread
technical/non-technical knowledge
among the students in an informal way,
so as to promote discussion and ignite
the interests of students.
Every week, a person (either from the
college or outside) specializing in a
domain is invited to give a talk about
that topic. The talk can either be about
teaching some technology or sharing their
experiences with other people. The talk is
followed by a casual discussion where
the participants can discuss anything
related or not related to the topic.
The first talk was about front end
development and taught people how to
create their own website-based resume.
The talk was given by Sreetam Das, a
senior student, who covered HTML and
CSS, and taught people how to come up
with their own website. The talk had been
recorded and uploaded to IG's Youtube
channel. We received an amazing
response. We are looking forward to other
exciting talks in the upcoming weeks.

events for the freshers.A video, which will show the
facilities of IG, past events conducted including various
workshops and hackathons, industrial projects,
testimonials and details about the upcoming events. Its
aim is mainly to encourage the freshers to come to IG
and Innovate with all the freedom and 24*7 facilities.
Apart from this, we shall have an open house where
students from all sections can come and experience what
IG is about by seeing various projects done by students
at IG. Finally we shall complete the journey with a basic

WORKSHOPS Workshops have played an integral role in how Innovation
Garage functions. We have had workshops right from Arduino
to 3D Printing, Design tools(CAD/CAM) to Game
Development. This year, we plan to keep the same
momentum going starting with IG101 for freshers. It consists of
a workshop for freshers on Arduino , from theory to
Application followed by a contest. Apart from this, we are
planning to conduct workshops on Raspberry PI,Web
Development,Mobile Development,CAD/CAM/CAE,PCB
Prototyping,3D Printing and Image Processing.
Note : This list is tentative and shall try all of them for you. If
you have any suggestions or feedback, please feel free to
contact us.
RENNOVATION
A maker space is not solely a science lab, wood-
shop or art room, rather it contains elements
found in all of these familiar spaces. Therefore, it
must be designed to accommodate a wide range
of tools, activities and projects. Thus the design
team has taken charge to renovate IG. We
encourage students to design,experiment, build
and invent as they deeply engage in science,
engineering and tinkering.
YELLOW MESSENGER SUMMER INTERN
This summer , Innovation Garage conducted an intern Drive for students of NIT Warangal with the
aim to provide them with exposure to industry and startup ecosystem. We partnered with Yellow
Messenger for the same .
Yellow Messenger is one of the successful startups that has emerged from the NIT Warangal
campus with clients such as Microsoft, TATA Power, Pepsico and Diageo. They were looking for
summer interns for their technology department and content writers for their marketing department.
They selected Anirudh Pabba and ABSR Satesh , 3rd Year students from NIT Warangal. They were
quite happy with the selections and the work done by the students.
Note: If any start-up is interested in partnering with Innovation Garage for hiring interns, please
feel free to contact us.
Innovation Garages Role in Internship & PPOs :
Priyam Khandelwal :
IG is the place where most of my batch mates have startedprojects. We got to know how to
start workon real world projects. It was the place which gave us the opportunity to work with
amazing seniors. The Hackathons gave us really good projects to showcase in our Resume
which later helped during interviews where interviewer was really interested in them and
asked questions related to them.
I have done ML related project in one of the Hackathon, though it was a very small but it was
helpful for me during internship interviews. The thingsIhave learnt in the workshopsIhave
attended in IG were actually used during my Internship project andIdidnt have to spend
time in learning things.
Piyush Kashyap :
I joined NITW as an amateur, without being fully aware of my branch. This gave me a sense of
cluelessness which hindered the quest to discover my passion.
However Innovation Garage, gave me the opportunity to have hands on experience with
projects in diverse field while interacting with many seniors exposing me to a plethora of
opportunities available out there.
IG enabled me to add a feather to my resume in the form of 'Research Intern in IISC
Bangalore' leading me to get Intern and PPO at Fidelity Investments, India.
Along with diverse knowledge of various present day Technologies along with seniors
guidance, I also worked as a student team member for IG. This helped me create immense
opportunities for students of NITW in bringing the best out of them, which made me learn
valuable management skills, helping me to become Student coordinator for Technozion 2017.
Anmol Kulkarni:
My expectation of college was a space where people with brilliant ideas would come together
and make amazing things that people could be proud of. Once I came to college, I couldn't
find what I was looking for, until Innovation Garage opened in second semester. I remember
Game Dev Weekend Hack being the first event I attended and met two awesome individuals ,
Naveen and Anand. It was also where I met VIshal Reddy and we worked together on our first
game. Ever since, I have attended almost every event, hackathon conducted by Innovation
Garage. Thanks to Naveen, IG was the place where I conducted my first event , my first
workshop which ended up having 350+ participants. Apart from all this, the numerous projects
that I worked on in IG and during hackathons has helped me learn a lot and has made my
resume colourful. The technical, communication and managerial skills that I picked up thanks
to Innovation Garage led me to bag an Intern offer from Microland which eventually converted
to a PPO. As the General Manager of Innovation Garage, it's now my dream to provide the
same brilliant opportunities that were presented to me through IG to every student on campus.
