COURSE POLICY
• Homework. Homework will generally be assigned at Thursday, and due at the
beginning of the class of the next Thursday. No credit will be given for late
assignments. Each homework should be submitted on Engineering paper or white
paper.
• Format. Your problem solutions should be neatly written up in a clear and logical
fashion. Use a straightedge for drawings, and box your answers as well as the
important steps whenever necessary. If I cannot read it, I will not give any grade
for the portion or even the whole problem.
• Collaboration. Collaboration is not permitted during exam, but encouraged for
homework, experiments and project.
• Experiment. You must have prepared the experiment before entering the lab. Always
follow the instruction and obey the safety rules. The report should be typeset and
printed on white paper.
• Make-up Exams. Make-up exams will not be given unless arrangements have been
made with the instructor prior to the exam date.
• Minipaper & Presentation. Mini-paper should be in either IEEE or ASME style. All
references should be included. Presentation should be prepared with PowerPoint.
• Professional Conduct. You are expected to maintain good professional conduct
throughout this course and in your interactions with your peers and the instructor.
It is also important in your future professional career to treat your colleagues and
fellow professionals with respect and consideration.
Examples of Good Professional Conduct:
Good Attendance and be on time
Pay attention
Be prepared for class (reading the text, reviewing notes)
Actively contribute to the group activities
Examples of Poor Professional Conduct:
Frequent absences or late arriving
Disruptive behavior in class (side conversations, etc.)
Not paying attention (reading newspaper, doze, etc.)
Being unprepared for class or experiment
Neglect your responsibilities in group activities
Not obeying safety rules in experiment
