Fluid Where Should Be Used: Fluid Inventory in Wellcat

This document discusses different fluid types that can be defined in the WellCat fluid inventory: 1) General fluid - Used to specify fluid properties as a function of pressure and temperature. Standard muds and synthetic muds can be defined here. 2) Compositional muds - Components like diesel can be entered without pressure data. 3) Standard Hydrocarbons - Includes oil, gas, and gas dissolved in oil. 4) VLE Hydrocarbon - For gas and oil or gas and hydrocarbons without entering hydrocarbon percentages separately. 5) Cement Slurry, Brine, Foam, and Polymers can also be defined with appropriate data required.

Fluid Inventory in WellC

Fluid Where should be used

Used to specify fluid properties as a function of pressure
and temperature.
General fluid

Mention the standard muds with std. Rhelogical

properties.
Standard mud

Synthetic Muds tab to specify fluid properties as a

function of pressure and associated thermal and rheology
Synthetic mud data. You can define the properties for the overall mixture

U can eneter diesel as a component and no need to

eneter pressure data
Compositional muds

Oil
Gas
Gas dissolved in Oil
Standard Hydrocarbons

For gas and oil

VLE Hydrocarbon
For gas and hydrocarbons. No need to enter hydrocarbons
File defined hydrocarbons % seperatly. Add the the total liquid % and thermal
properties of hydrocarbon and gas

For neat cement and cement slurries

Cement Slurry
Include sea water and all other available brines
Brine
For any type of foam
Foam

Polymers Mainly used for polymer flooding

Fluid Inventory in WellCat
Data Required
Atleast 2 pressure values and for each pressure value enter 2different temp
values

No need to enter pressure value in this

U can enter customize thermal properties. Acid can be entered in this

For oil just need to put oil gravity

For gas add the sp gravity, it will automatically calculate the % of gases inside it
or add the percentage it will automatically calculats the gravity, Normalize
button is used to make the composition 100%.
Gas dissolved in oil need oil gravity and same as gas

Difference between standaed hydrocarbons and VLE is that VLEconsider heavy

hydrocarbons seperatly

Import and Export option available to exchange data with other commercial
PVT softwares

Lab test report data

Density at particular temp

fluid density, mix ratio and type of gas

Remarks
Maximum 10 flids can be entered

Diesel and fresh water are default

Maximum 10 flids can be entered

For calculation it doesnot consider

the havey hydrocarbons()beyond
7+ seperately

Acid can be added in this
