B. Learning Stage
a. Exploration (Activity)
The teacher will present a picture and call volunteers to identify what kind of
planet in the picture.
The teacher will ask the pupils of what they observe about their activity.
b. Firming Up (Analysis)
How did you identify the different kinds of planets?
What have you learned from the activity?
c. Deepening (Abstraction)
The SOLAR SYSTEM is the gravitational bound system comprising the Sun and the
objects that orbit around it, either directly or indirectly. Of those objects that orbit the
sun directly, the largest eight are the planets. The four smaller Inner planets,
Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars and the outer planets are Jupiter, Saturn,
Uranus, and Neptune.
The teacher will discuss about the inner and the outer planets.
The teacher will ask some pupils to identify what of planets is she going to
mention.
d. Transferring (Application)
The pupils will answer the following exercise.
Direction: Indicate whether the planets listed below are inner or outer planets.
