Jesus Feeds Four Thousand
Matthew 15:32-39
Along the banks of Lake Galilee, a crowd had gathered over 3 days
to watch Jesus heal many people of their illnesses.
Once Jesus had finished he called his disciples over and said
Jesus: I feel sorry for these people, they have been with me for 3
days and now have nothing to eat. I dont want to send them away
without feeding them, for they might faint on their way home.
Then a disciple asked:
Disciple: Where will we find enough food in this desert to feed all of
these crowd?
Jesus: How much bread do you have?
Disciple: Seven loaves and a few small fish
Jesus ordered the crowd to sit in the ground. He took the leaves
and fish, gave thanks to God, broke them, and gave them to the
disciples to pass around to the crowd. They all ate and had enough.
Then the disciples filled 7 baskets with what was left over. The
number of men was 4000, not including the women and children in
the crowd.
Once the crowd had eaten Jesus sent them away and he and his
disciples left.
