PARENTS IN PRAYER: Parents, for the month of September we welcome you to join us Mondays after morning
assembly from 8:30-9:00 am; as we come together to pray the rosary for our school, our children and any

THANK YOU: A special thank you to Ms. Navarro, and all our teachers for the wonderful dinner they put on for
our St. Columba Mens Club.
FALL FESTIVAL NEEDS YOU: It is very exciting to see the St. Columba PTG and school families putting together an
event of this magnitude with such potential. Spread the [Link] family and friends to come join all the
fun starting on Friday, October 13th with dinner & dancing from 6:00 10:00 pm, Saturday, October 14th the ac-
tivities begin from 12:00 until 10:00 pm, and on Sunday, October 15th come and start your day with a delicious
pancake breakfast from [Link] am in the parish hall, join us for an open air Mass from 9:30 10:30 am, and
from 10:30 4:00 pm more Fall Fest fun, ending our Festival with the BIG RAFFLE a chance to win a new 2017
Toyota. Please keep in mind, if youre not able to go to the Fall Festival, another way you can support this
event is by buying raffle tickets 5 for $100.00 or $20.00 each. The drawing is the main profit of this event, and
we need all our families to reach out and help to support this fundraiser so our goal can become a reality. All
proceeds go directly into our school budget. Also, we always need lots of volunteers! This is a great way to
work off your family service hour commitment. Important note: Look for the raffle tickets coming home today
with your child.
FALL FEST BREWERS COMPETITION: Something new has been added to this years Fall [Link] invited to
enter the 1st ever St. Columba Beer Brewers Competition! If you plan to enter your homebrew, plan to provide
3 gallons and if you have any questions, please email Maggie at maggieoden@[Link].
AFTER SCHOOL SPANISH: Our after school Spanish classes have begun and the response has been fantastic!
For Grades 1st & 2nd classes will be on Wednesday from 3:00-3:30, followed by grades 3rd & 4th from 3:30-4:00. For
grades 5th through 7th classes will be on Thursdays from 3:00-3:30. Thank you for supporting this after school
program. A very special thank you to Maggie Perry for her time and dedication for organizing this after school
program. If you have any questions, please contact Maggie Perry at mperry@[Link]. Also, since we
had to adjust the class times, please note; if your child(ren) are attending the 3:00-3:30 & 3:30-4:00 classes on
Wednesday you will not be charged for EDC during that time.
COMEDY FOR A CAUSE: Parent, come join the fun at The Comedy Palace Friday, September 22nd at 7:30 pm
located at 8878 Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Great comics, great food, silent auction, giveaways and more! Tickets
are $20.00 each and are available in the school office. Checks made payable to St. Columba School, or pay
with cash or credit cards. The Comedy Palace will donate 50% of all ticket sales back to our school. All pro-
ceeds will go to benefit our St. Columba secret garden. Thank you to Mary Lou Scott for organizing this event.

GIRLS SCOUTS: Interested in finding out more about Girls Scouts or Daisies, please join us Wednesday, Septem-
ber 27th from 6:00-7:00 pm in the parish hall.
TITLE 1 FAMILY SURVEY: Last Friday, September 1st Title 1 family surveys were sent home. If you havent returned
this survey, please do so as soon as possible. According to the number of families eligible, private school stu-
dents can receive supplement educational services under Title 1. Students may receive services based on
their academic need.
GIFT CARDS: Dont forget to purchase gift cards! If you purchase a lot of gift cards for the holidays, plan
