VOICEOVERS overlapping: Breaking News! Reports are just
coming in of an explosion at Liverpool Street station
here in London.
EYE WITNESS: My husband was in there; hes been caught in
the fire and I havent heard from him since.
EYE WITNESS: There was loads of smoke then I heard a
massive bang! It was terrifying.
NEWS REPORTERS: We are awaiting on victims to be
identified and anymore news on the matter is yet to be
confirmed.
TITLE: 24 HOURS EARLIER
INT: OLVIAS BEDROOM- EVENING
The scene begins with OLIVIA WILSTONE (18) and her
boyfriend, KYLE LANG (18) sitting in bed. OLIVIA is
reading a book whilst anxiously glancing at KYLE from
time to time. She is dressed in pink silk pyjamas. Kyle
is transfixed on his phone, laughing at incoming text
messages he is receiving. He is dressed in a white t-
shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms. OLIVIA slowly closes
her book and turns to KYLE.
OLIVIA
(Awkwardly giggling) Kyle, do you want to share the joke?
KYLE
(Laughing in his speech) Just getting messages from the
boys about this Saturday. Its going to be mental!
OLIVIA
This Saturday? Kyle, you promised me you would come to my
family barbeque. I cant go alone, Ill die of
embarrassment!
KYLE puts down his phone slowly and sits up attentively.
KYLE
(Itching the back of his neck nervously) Ah Liv! Its
just, you know my mate Ryan. (Stuttering) hes been Hes
been in a dark place at the moment He needs some male
support. You understand dont you babe?

OLIVIA slouches with an expression of defeat and
disappointment on her face.
OLIVIA
(Forcing a smile) No problem babe, the barbeque isnt
even important anyway.(Playfully) You go get Ryan out of
that dark place.
KYLE
Youre the best babe. I love you so much
KYLE kisses her on the cheek. OLIVIA sighs then lies down
with her head on the pillow. She has a look of sadness on
her face.
Well I dont know about you but Im even more excited
about our trip next week.
OLIVIA
Our trip?
KYLE
Last time I checked we had two first class tickets to
Paris next week.
OLIVIA
(Sitting up excitedly) Youre lying?
KYLE
I mean I was going to ask Ryan, but hes still in that
dark place, so I thought youd be more fun
KYLE winks at OLIVIA and she jumps up, wrapping her arms
around him.
OLIVIA
Kyle I cant believe you!
KYLE
Youre the most amazing woman; you deserve to be treated
that way.
OLIVIA
(Sarcastically) Wow I never thought Id see the day. Kyle
Lang putting another person first. Thats a good trait to
have in a father figure you know.
KYLE pauses then slouches into his pillow

KYLE
How many times do you have to mention parenthood before
you realise its a waste of time?
OLIVIA
(Holding Kyles hand) Kyle we are getting to that stage
of our lives where we need to start thinking about these
things.
KYLE
Liv, we are 18! Next thing you know youll be forcing me
to get down on one knee!
OLIVIAs smile quickly fades into a look of
embarrassment.
Im getting bored of all the pressure you put on me. Its
getting old dont you think?
KYLE rolls his eyes, lies down and turns off his bedside
lamp. OLIVIA, trying to hold back her tears, lies down
and also turns off her bedside lamp.
BLACKOUT:
CUT TO:
EXT: OLIVIAS HOUSE- DAYTIME
CUT TO:
INT-OLVIAS BEDROOM- DAYTIME
KYLE begins to awaken slowly. As he turns to greet
OLIVIA, he sees an empty space next to him. Confused and
dazed he sits up, yawning and stretching. As he becomes
more awake, he notices a letter addressed to him, resting
on OLIVIAS pillow. He has a concerned look on his face
and opens the letter. When he opens the letter, his eyes
meet a positive pregnancy test. He pauses, staring at it
in shock. He breathes heavily, shaking as he holds the
test. He then begins to read the letter.
VOICEOVER:
OLIVIA
Dear Kyle, Im hoping this letter will explain a lot of
things I have been too afraid to say. You know I love
you, but whenever something is happening in MY life that
I want you to be a part of, you shut me out. We have been
together for 5 years, and yet I still feel like we are
moving backwards, when we should be moving forwards. As

you have seen, yes, I am pregnant We are having a baby!
I know you question parenthood and dont want to be a
dad but this is real Kyle. And I dont think I can be
with someone who cant handle the reality of a serious
relationship. I have bought a train ticket to spend time
at my mums for a little while and I bought you one too.
If you are ready for this commitment, I will be waiting
for you at Liverpool street station at 1:00, so we can
start our lives together. If you are not ready, I think
we need to accept the fact that we were never meant to
be. I love you so much, but you have to decide what you
truly want, Liv.
KYLE drops the note and puts the pregnancy test in his
pocket. He then grabs his bag and begins shoving clothes
into it frantically. He then looks at a framed picture of
himself and OLIVIA on his bedside table before running
out of the room.
CUT TO:
EXT: STREET- DAYTIME
KYLE is running down the street frantically. He goes into
a nearby shop and buys some flowers to give to OLIVIA.
When KYLE arrives at the station he gets out his phone to
ring OLIVIA to let her know he is waiting for her. The
phone goes to OLIVIAS voicemail.
OLIVIA
Hi, this is Olivia. Im busy right now but leave a
message and Ill get back to you. Bye
KYLE
Hey Liv, Im currently standing outside the station
waiting to start our journey together. I was so stupid I
cant wait to be a dad. I cant wait to see you so I can
prove to you how much I want thisI really want this. I
love you.
CUT TO:
EXT: BUS- DAYTIME
OLIVIA is seen seated on the upper deck of the bus. She
pulls out her phone and her eyes meet a picture of
herself and KYLE as her screen saver. OLIVIA smiles and

giggles to herself. She then receives a voicemail from
KYLE and listens to it attentively
VOICEOVER:
KYLE
Hey Liv, Im currently standing outside the station
waiting to start our journey together. I was so stupid I
cant wait to be a dad. I cant wait to see you so I can
prove to you how much I want thisI really want this. I
love you.
OLIVIA smiles and laughs to herself. She then quickly
tries to ring KYLE, but when she cannot get through to
him, she leaves him a voicemail.
OLIVIA
Kyle, Im beyond happy you want this. I cant even
explain to you how happy I am. You mean the world to me
and Im so excited for us. (Looking around embarrassedly)
Everyones looking at me like an idiot but Im so happy I
love-
