APPROVING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING


COLUMBARIUM PROJECTS

WHEREAS, there is a proliferation of columbarium projects as principal


activity particularly in Metro Manila;

WHEREAS, the existing Implementin g Rules and Regulation s (IRR) for


Memorial Parks and Cemeteries approved per Board Resolution No. 681 , S. of
2000 , provides design standards fo r columbarium only as ancillary acti vity;

WHEREAS, to foster orderly development and protect the interest of


buyers , there is a need to provide specific Rul es and Regulations to govern the
development and sales of columbarium projects;

WHEREAS, there is a need to harmonize the aforementioned Rules and


Regulations with the new IRR of the National Building Code and with other
policies and issuances of government agencies concerneeJ;

WHEREAS, the issuance of these Rules and Regulations fo r


Columbarium Projects is deemed necessary for consistency and uniformity in the
evaluation and processing of applications for the development of columbarium
projects ;

WHEREFORE, RESOLVED as it is hereby RESOLVED that the Rules


and Regulations Governing Columbarium Projects, hereto attached as Annex A,
be APPROVED.
