Hi Ana,
How are you? I hope everythings okay in your new job. It sounds great.
We had a great time in Paris! We left London on Friday evening at seven and arrived at the
station in Paris three hours later it was really fast and it only cost 100 for the two of us.
We decided to stay in the centre of the city in a small family hotel - it was expensive but very
good and it was easy to walk from the hotel to a lot of the most famous museums and parks.
On Saturday we had an early breakfast in the hotel and then we went to see the Eiffel Tower.
Ken wanted to walk up it and after 30 minutes we arrived at the top. We were very hot! From
the top you can see all of Paris .. it was fantastic and we were lucky because the weather was
good. Then we went shopping and I bought a new handbag brown leather by Yves St.
Laurent! We had lunch at a caf and then we went to the Louvre Museum. Its large and we
didnt see everything but we saw the Mona Lisa and also the Venus de Milo. We wanted to see
the Picasso Museum but it was closed so we went for a walk in one of Pariss famous parks, the
Jardin du Luxembourg and watched children sailing model boats in the lake. In the evening
we went to The Blue Elephant and had Thai food. The restaurants in Paris are great.
On Sunday we hired a tandem, you know, a bicycle for two people. It was difficult at first but
we became better after about half an hour practice! We decided to ride our tandem from Ile St.
Louis on the river to the Arc de Triomphe. It was a beautiful day and we saw many Paris
streets, parks and squares.
In the afternoon we went to Montmartre, a very old part of the city. Its famous as a meeting
place for artists and writers. After one more coffee there, it was time to leave and we got back to
London last night at eight oclock.
Paris is a wonderful city and were going to go again, maybe next year. Do you want to come
with us?
Write back soon,
Best wishes,
Fran
