GABION BOXES HEXAGONAL MESH


Gabion Boxes are used to build retaining walls on roads, embankments & other applications; Stabilizing excavated areas, in
landscaping and architectural applications. Gabions are manufactured using Mild Steel Wire with hexagonal mesh. Corrosion
Protection is offered by way of Galvanizing / Galfan Coating of Wire. Additional protection is offered by way of PVC Extrusion
Coating. Other Extrusion Coatings are also offered to suit custom needs.

Mesh: Shall be hexagonal mesh with nominal opening of 60x80 / 80x00 / 100x120 mm conforming to EN10223-3.
Mesh Wire: The nominal mesh wire for the body of the Boxes shall be between 2.4 to 3.2mm diameters with corresponding
selvedge wire as shown in table below. The body wire, selvedge wire & lacing wire shall be in accordance with EN 10218-2
and EN 10223-3. PVC coating if offered will increase above wire diameters by 1mm.
Corrosion Protection: Zinc/Galfan Coated as per EN10244-2 Class A, with option of extruded PVC coating with average
min. wall thickness of 0.5mm conforming to EN 10245-2.
Diaphragms: Generally Provided Preassembled to the Base & at 1.0m c/c spacing along the Length of the gabion for
gabions equal to or greater than 2m in length.
Joining & Assembly: All Preformed joints and connections for the Gabion Box shall be formed using continuous wire of
diameter 2.2mm (Core Wire) with coating similar to Mesh. Assembly on site will be carried out using 2.2mm Core wire and/or
high tensile 3mm diameter C rings.(Galfan Coated / Stainless Steel)
Certifications / Approvals : Hexagonal Mesh Products of Link Middle East are certified / Approved by BBA, UK; Copro,
Belgium; Afnor, France; SABS South Africa & CE Marked. Products confirming to these can be provided on specific
Requests.
