Course Objectives The CMA program has four objectives:
1. To establish management accounting as a recognized profession
by identifying the role of the management accountant and
financial manager, the underlying body of knowledge, and course
of study by which such knowledge is acquired;
2. To encourage higher educational standards in the management
accounting field;
3. To establish an objective measure of an individual's knowledge
and competence in the field of management accounting; and
4. To encourage continued professional development by
management accountants.
The CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is the advanced
professional certification specifically designed to measure the
accounting and financial management skills that drive business
performance. Achieving the CMA credential demonstrates your
mastery of financial planning, analysis, control, and decision support,
as well as professional ethics.

CMA Requirements:
To be Certified as CMA, candidates must fulfill both an education
requirement and an experience requirement in addition to passing the
exam. These are:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or an
equivalent degree as determined by an independent evaluation
