Capacities
Performance figures are approximate and give an indication of what the crusher can
produce. They apply for open circuit crushing of dry material with a bulk density of 1600
kg/m3 (100 lbs/[Link].). It is assumed that material finer than the crushers closed side setting
(CSS) is removed from the feed. For more detailed predictions of crusher performance,
consult your nearest SANDVIK office. Feed factors such as material crushability (Work
index), density, gradation, moisture content and grain structure all have impact on crusher
performance. Also the design of the crushing plant and process have influence.

Crushing chambers
For most applications
the well established CLP (constant liner performance) type of mantle is the ideal
selection. CLP mantles are designed with emphasis on long liner life, high capacity
and the ability to retain capacity and product gradation during the whole life of the
chamber.

Other customers have a strong requirement to make as fine product as possible. This
need is fulfilled with the newly developed Heavy-Choke (HC) mantle, which is used
when extreme reduction ratio is needed. The HC mantle has a strangulated intake
which reduce material density in the chamber and allow for operation at smaller
settings. A bonus effect of the design is an enlarged feed opening. HC mantles are
ideally used with the F, MF and M concave rings, but can also work with MC, C and
EC. CLP mantles work equally well with all concave rings.
All crushing chambers in the CH-430 are installed without use of backing material
and in the same topshell for maximum flexibility.

Note, SANDVIKs definition of feed size is by determining the diameter of the largest sphere that meets the
crushing chamber with a nip angle that allow it to be crushed.
