IGE STORY

Travel and India are not synonymous. The idea of seamless travel is alien to our
country.

Having said that, what we do have is Incredible India. The land of mystery,
discovery, exploration. A country where you can find more dialects than people (ok,
thats a bit of an exxageration) and can possibly experience 4 seasons all in 1
week. Were known for our unmatched hospitality and a rich culture base.

We seem to have it all. Then how is it that in a country so apt for any traveler, most
people look beyond Indian boundaries to experience travel at its best?

Because somewhere at the back of our minds, there is a constant fear that travel in
India is simply inconvenient. The industry is one that is disorganised, unimpressive
and inconvenient. And all this at exhorbitant rates targeted primarily to the elite
and not the masses. This is exactly what makes travelling in India more
discouraging than encouraging.

28 years ago, a handful of people had the same epiphany. It was a steady
realisation that one of the key reasons why the travel ecosystem is suffering is
because 1 element has nothing to do with another- which leads to chaos. Agents
and services had been for time immemorial working mutually exclusively and that
was a serious problem. So how do we solve it?

These numbered few decided that in order to bring order, a coherent travel
facilitator needs to be set up. One that can address multiple touchpoints, simplifying
the travel experience for everyone, alike.

And 28 years ago InterGlobe Enterprises began its journey by offering 6 distinct but
harmonious businesses, with the aim to re-align travel in India, but more
importantly to remind people that travel doesnt have to be the mammoth task that
its made out to be.

Today, IGE is the leader in the travel industry, running Inidas youngest yet festest
growing Airline, handling the largest network of travel agents for travel commerce
solutions and an award- winning pilots training program, amongst many others.

IGE has not only made its presence felt in front of and behind the camera across the
travel industry in India, it also happens to be the only full- service company of its
kind in the industry and the country.
