I walk to work this morning when I see Mr Gonzlez, my old Spanish teacher.
He (wear) a leather jacket and (carry) a guitar. I (ask) him how he was. He
said, Fine. I go to my band practice, I said. What band? he replied. I not
teach anymore. It (not be) really the best job for me. A few years ago I (start)
a band called The Big Easy. We (not make) much money, but I (like) the
lifestyle. I asked him where he (live) and he said, I (live) in my caravan at
the moment. I travel a lot. Im a child of the sixties!

My parents 1 ______________________________ (never fly) before, and so


they were very nervous when we 2 ______________________________ (arrive)
at Heathrow Airport to take our flight to Rome. I 3

instructions to get in the queue at the check-in desk while I 4
______________________________ (go) to park my car in the long-term car
park. However, when I ______________________________ 5 (get) to the check-
in desk myself, they were nowhere in sight. I 6
______________________________ (look) for them everywhere until it suddenly
occurred to me that they 7 ______________________________ (already I check
in) and they 8 ______________________________ (wait) for me in the departure
lounge. This was a real problem because I 9 ______________________________
(give) my passport to my mother, so I couldn't check in. I immediately 10
______________________________ (call) my parents on their mobile. I was

departure lounge. They 12 ______________________________ (wait) for me for
nearly half an hour at the gate. Luckily, my mum managed to find an
understanding member of staff who met me at the information desk with my
passport!
