3 Selection process:

For every organization it is very much important to pick the right person for the right position in
many ways. Selecting right person is important because organizations success depends a lot on
employees. So hiring wrong person might harm a lot to the organization to attain their goals.
Moreover hiring and training employees is very much costly, so it is not possible for them to fire
or hire people as their wish. Selecting right person is very much important from this sense also.

As well as we are concerned about Grameenphones selection process, they are unique and
parallel from other organization. For selecting employees they follow some steps.

Aptitude test

Assessment center

For selecting employees Grameenphone at first go for Aptitude test as the first step. Aptitude test
is any type of assessment that evaluates the talent, ability, potential to perform a certain task.
There are different kinds of aptitude test like: numerical reasoning, text analysis, inductive
reasoning, deductive reasoning, spatial reasoning etc. Through this types of test the organization
try to read the ability of the candidates. The candidates who go through these steps are invited for
the next step called interview session.

Interview session is very much important for selecting employees. In the interview session the
interviewer of Grameenphone prefer panel interview. The team of interviewers together
interviews the applicants. The team consists of three or six members. The interviewers ask
different kinds of questions and the applicant answer the questions. Through interview session
the interviewers try to analyze how the applicants behave, how the applicants talk with them and
how they inter into the interview room. Actually the interviewers try to analyze applicants
gesture and poster which is very much important.
The applicants who go through the interview session are selected for the assessment center. In
assessment center the applicants are tested by Grameenphone interviewers called competency
based interview (CBI). Role playing, case study, situational based interview, stress interview,
video based interview are included in this segment. In role playing interview applicants are asked
to play a role on particular situation. In case study applicants are asked to solve different kinds of
problems. In situational based interview the interviewers of Grameenphone try to understand
how the applicants behave in a particular situation.

The applicants who pass all the steps are offered the job. Actually Grameenphone try to ensure to
pick the right person for the right job. Thats they follow these steps.
