o This lab focuses on giving a hands-on learning experience for
undergraduate nursing students. The lab focuses on teaching and
evaluating the students ability to perform essential nursing skills:
Tracheostomy care, IV therapy maintenance, Nasogastric tube
insertion and maintenance, enteral feeding/medication
administration initiation and maintenance,
colostomy/urostomy/ileostomy care, airway suctioning, and
closed chest drainage system care
Spirituality in Patient Care Fall Semester 2016
o Health Professions elective
o Role: Lecturer
o This course was open to the entire university to be taken as
elective to fulfill the moral reasoning general elective.
o During the course the students learned how to provide spiritual
care to patients from a diverse population including religion, age,
spiritual background, and patient setting.
