each. Payment can be made in advance by sending a check to the church

Confirmation
Credo Confirmation at Aldersgate is for students in grades 6-12.
"Confirmation is not the beginning or the end of the faith journey.
Confirmation is about making disciples. It is that simple and that
challenging." Students each have a mentor from our congregation and
will have the opportunity near the end of our course to decide if he/she
wants to join The United Methodist Church, specifically Aldersgate. It
takes a very mature student to participate in this course so if your youth
is not ready that is completely okay - and we do not pressure anyone
into joining the church. If you're interested in your child (or grandchild)
participating
in
Credo,
please
contact

New Bible Study & Three Class Times To Choose From!
"Exodus In the Old and New Testaments"
Begins January 24th
Tuesday morning at 10:00am & Tuesday Evening at 6:30pm
I want to thank everyone who shared their interest in the new Bible
study, "Exodus In the Old and New Testaments" and who completed
either a green paper form or filled out a form online. I am grateful to each
one of you! I wish my schedule allowed me to lead the study at enough
times that everyone would be able to participate, but I currently am only
able to lead two classes. By having a class on Tuesday mornings at
10:00am and an another class on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm, I will be
able to accommodate the most people for the study. In addition, there will
be an on-line class on Monday evenings that will be facilitated by Ashley
Thornton. This class will begin on Monday, January 30th at 6:30pm, so
please fill out the tear-off flap of your worship bulletin. Everyone is
invited and encouraged to join one of these three classes and bring a
friend. All you will need is a Bible and a desire to grow in the Lord!
Handbells
The reading for the first class will be: Exodus 1:1 - 3:22
The Aldersgate UMC Adult Handbell Choir, known as the "Aldersgate
Ringers, is currently in great need of several substitute ringers for the
Winter/Spring session. We are scheduled to ring February 5, 2017, and
will begin our January rehearsals on the 17th. Please contact Melody
Day either at (434) 906-3919 or at handbells@[Link].
Take your time reading and even re-reading the Biblical text. Our first
class will be an introduction to the study. We look at some of the
background to the Book of Exodus and introduce some of the themes of
Exodus, in addition to talking about our reading. Don't forget to bring
your Bible to class!
