Heat Load Calculation Example Guide

This document provides an example of input data for calculating the heat load of Room A in a multi-story office building with air conditioning on the 1st and 3rd floors. Key inputs include: 1) Room dimensions and occupancy of 25 people. 2) Outdoor summer and winter temperatures and humidity for Shanghai. 3) Construction details like wall types and glass with provided conductivity factors. 4) System parameters such as fresh air supply, lighting, and infiltration rates. 5) Adjacent room information and classification for heat transfer through walls. The document demonstrates entering this data into a heat load calculation program to determine Room A's sensible and latent heat loads under summer and winter conditions

Data Input Example

Take Room-A as an example, Data input is as the follows:
Room Information:
Room name: Room A

Floor: 2

Ventilation equipment:
Total heat exchanger
Ventilation fan

System No. :1

Floor area: 126.0 m2

Ceiling height: 2.6 m

Infiltration air only

Since Room A is located at the typical floor, and there are airconditioning
both at upper & lower floor, therefore no need to input the ceiling & floor.
Safty factor:
Sensible heat factor SF1= 1.05
Latent heat factor SF2= 1.05
Conductivity factor:
Ouside wall- Type V, conductivity factor K2.95since it is same as default,
no need to change in this case.
Internal wall conductivity factor K2.85also since it is same as default, no
need to change in this case.
Note: If the actual outside wall / internal wall structure is different from the
default, then you can input each layers material and their thickness to
calculate its actualconductivity factor.
Designed room temperature/ humidity condition
Summer dry bulb DB= 24
Relative humidity RH= 50 %
Winter dry bulb DB= 22
Relative humidity RH=50 %

Calculation time:
8:00-18:00, same as default, no need to change in this case.
