2016 shows the stark reality that still only 5% of young people aged 20-24 have obtained
vocational skills through a formal training system.
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Annual Report, 2014-15, stated that there are 504,142
branchless banking outlets in villages, with no granular information regarding
location details, activity levels, etc.
CGAP's "National Survey of Banking Agents, 2013" and "The Curious Case of Missing
Agents in Rural India", MicroSave, January 2014 showed that data on agents, as
reported by SLBCs, often did not match data from on the ground

Labour Bureau Report 2014, the present skilled workforce in India is only 2 %, which is
much lower when compared to the developing nations and that the number persons
aged 15 years who have received or be receiving skills is merely 6.8 percent.
