Artmaking Materials Needed:
Paper
Pencil/Pen
Procedures:
PRESENTATION/INSTRUCTION: (5 minutes)
o Have students turn in their sketchbook assignments
o Have students turn in their projects and then pin them to the wall
o Show homecoming video (3 minutes)
o Start by explaining what is critique and why we have critique
o Emphasize what NOT to do during a critique and what things are encouraged
o Power point
-Provide questions through slide
GROUP SESSION: (15 minutes)
o Have students form groups based on tables
o Explain that a question will be asked and the group will have to discuss the questions
together and will have a sheet of paper where they will write an answer together. These
questions are focused more on the process of making the painting.
o After a few minutes, I will ask each group to share
o First have students introduce their artwork and talk about which one is theirs.

-What was most challenging about this project?
-What was most enjoyable while painting this project?
-What advice would you give yourself at the start of the project?
CRITIQUE: (20 minutes)
o Go around and have each student talk about their work
o After they have talked about their own they can choose someone elses work and talk
about one thing that stood out to them to pick who goes next.
