Vocabulary Acquisition:
Color:Produced by light of various wavelengths, and when light strikes an object and reflects
back to the eyes
Hue: The name of any color as found in its pure state in the spectrum or rainbow, or that aspect
of any color.
Watercolor: artists' paint made with a water-soluble binder such as gum arabic, and thinned with
water rather than oil, giving a transparent color.

Procedures:
PRESENTATION/INSTRUCTION: (10 minutes)
o Have students grab materials from the front when they walk in and set up for water color
o Power point
- First go over Color
- Do an interactive exercise with color with the class(Optical illusions and
psychology of color)
- Short youtube clip of fun facts about color
- Then introduce watercolor
DEMONSTRATIONS: (10 minutes)
o Watch a video on basic techniques
o Do in class demonstration
o Go over worksheet and what theyll be doing in class
DESIGN/WORK SESSION: (20 minutes)
o Have students work on a worksheet that has different techniques
o Explain that the worksheets will be turned in for a formative
CLEAN UP: (5 minutes)
o Put their paintings on the drying rack
o Put their supplies away
o Wipe their tables if needed
