Thvenin Theorem
Any linear, resistive circuit which contains one
or more voltage or current sources can be
replaced by a single voltage source and a series
resistance
Voltage is called the Thvenin equivalent Voltage
(Vth) and Resistance is called Thvenin
equivalent Resistance (Rth)

Norton Theorem
Any linear, resistive circuit which contains one
or more voltage or current sources can be
replaced by a single current source and a
parallel resistor
Current is called the Norton equivalent Current
(In) and Resistance is called Norton equivalent
Resistance (Rn)

Source Transformation:
Norton and Thvenin
Using
source
transformation
Thevenin
equivalent circuit can be transformed into Norton
equivalent and vice versa
IN = VTH / RTH
RN = RTH

Maximum Power Transfer
Theorem
Maximum Power Transfer Theorem
Maximum power is transferred to the load in a
circuit when the load resistance (RL) equals the
Thevenin resistance as seen from the load
RL=RTh

Capacitors
A capacitor is a circuit component that consists
of two conductive plate separated by an
insulator (or dielectric).
Capacitors store charge. Amount of charge
stored on the capacitor is directly proportional to
the voltage across the capacitor. Constant of
proportionality is the capacitance
Q=CV
