1969, after the draft finalized by the Oils and Oiiseeds
Sectional
Committee

The main areas of
production are Maharashtra
and Andhra Pradesh.
Safflower is also indigenously known as KARDI and BARREY.
The oil derived from safflower
is mostly used for edible purposes.
