Job Title: General Manager
Reports to: Other partners
Supervises: Deputy Manager
General Description:
The general manager is responsible for reporting to the other partners regarding the
development and performance of the venture. He/She is at the top of the organizational
structure and is obligated to strategize and organize activities for the business as a whole.
Also, he/she is responsible for making short - term and long term decisions in line with the
companys endeavours. In addition, he/she must ensure that companys vision and mission as
well as its goals and objectives are attained.
He/She must make sure that all guests would feel comfortable and are given receptive,
pleasant and courteous service at all times. It is also the General Managers responsibility to
manage budgets and financial plans as well as controlling the business expenses. Even with
the existence of the Sales and Operations manager, the General Managers must regularly
check and oversee the performance of the employees. Also, he/she is the official signatory of
the Pangaea bank account and is sanctioned to withdraw cash or deposit significant amount of
cash to the said account.
In the continuing operations of the business and in the case that the original General
Manager is replaced, the succeeding manager must have a thorough understanding of
business management, accounting and finance. He/She must have proficient experience in the
field of business.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The General Manager is expected to accomplish the following duties and
responsibilities:
Consult from the Operations Manager with regard to the work done by the different
departments.
Prepare required paperwork, including forms, report and schedules in an organized
and appropriate manner.
Understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training
programs so as to efficiently manage the venture.
Make verdicts with respect to companys problems and troubleshooting subsequent
complications.
Authorize purchases requested by the sales and operations manager.
Hold timely periodic meetings for all department heads to discuss matters in relation

Job Title: Deputy Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Supervises: Restaurant Manager, Accounting Officer, Maintenance Manager, Human
Resources Officer, Accommodations Manager
General Description:
He/She is obligated to oversee the day to day hotel and restaurant operations. Also,
he/she is responsible for all aspects of all departments of the business. He/She is expected to
work with the department heads in running the hotel. He/She must also interact with
customers and ensure that the premises are in operative condition to achieve customer
satisfaction. Additionally, he/she must monitor the coordination of the departments to attain a
smooth and efficient operation. He/She is also responsible to training the staff to upkeep
human capital. Furthermore, the Deputy Manager must be responsible for timely and
constructive feedback to all direct reports as when required either formally or informally.
He/She is also required to do any other duties assigned to him/her.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The Deputy Manager is expected to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Deal effectively with clients, bosses and employees while making sure that the hotel
operations run smoothly.
Assist the General Manager in preparing of the annual financial budget and monthly
forecasting procedures.
Conduct routine team meeting with all the department heads to discuss operational
matters, sales target, feedbacks and other issues.
Do random checks with regard to stocks and the like.
Deal with suppliers and vendors as well as provide the performance assessment of
vendors.
Inspect different departments of the business to ascertain whether standard operation

policies and procedures. The HR Officer is also required to undertake regular salary reviews
and advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits. Also,
he/she must develop HR planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term staff
requirements.

The Human Resources Officer is expected to accomplish the following duties and
responsibilities:
Make plans for future personnel needs.

The Restaurant Manager is expected to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Strategize for the restaurants day to day operations.
Establish promotional activities like discount schemes and other similar things.

General Description:
The Head/Executive chef generally works inside the kitchen. The primary duty of the

quality food but duties also extend to front-of-house and operational issues. They are also
responsible for the overall daily operations in the kitchen.

The cooks are the culinary chefs. They are the lead chefs in the making. They take
over the full responsibility in the kitchen whenever the head chef is not around or absent,

The Cooks are expected to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Prepare the menu offerings for the day as assigned by the head/executive chef.
Make sure that all ingredients are available to be able to cook without any hindrances

competitive edge. He/She is accountable for the quality and consistency of all pastry products
produced and served including the efficiencies, consistency, associate training and
accountability of costs associated with the pastry department.

The Pastry Chef is expected to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Cooks, prepare, bake and decorate the pastry components of meals.
Work with a restaurant's executive chef to pair breads and desserts and order supplies.
Create recipes or follow existing ones, using a creative flair to their craft, but all the
time maintaining records, ordering food, and enforcing food safety standards.

General Description:
They are mainly involved with the handling of cash from transactions with the
customers of the restaurant. In addition, the restaurant cashiers will be stationed at the
restaurant counter.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The Restaurant Cashier are expected to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Receive payment from customers in the form of cash, check or credit card, dispense
change to the customer and validating checks.
Count the cash in the drawer and making sure the amounts are correct.
Issue the receipt, refunds and credits to the customer.
Job Qualifications:

Must be a college graduate and has a degree in business with at least 6 units taken up
for accounting (e.g. Commerce, marketing, management accounting)

Job Title: Waiters/Servers

General Description:
The Waiters/Servers main job are to greet customers, escort them to their tables,
provide menus and take orders. They coordinate their work with other waiters, servers,
bartenders, managers and kitchen staff to ensure customers receive the best services. They are
mainly responsible for serving customers. The Servers and Waiters could also take the place
of a hotel bellhop. The Bellhop is often the first person with whom an arriving hotel guest has
a direct interaction. The Bellhops customer service responsibilities include helping guests
out of vehicles, unloading their luggage and transporting it into the hotel and on to their
rooms, helping them find their rooms, teaching them to operate door locks and room lights
and assisting with roll-away beds.
When not engaged in helping guests, the bellhop helps keep the entrance and lobby
areas of the hotel tidy and welcoming. Hotel guests often ask bellboys for information about
the hotel's amenities, restaurant hours and special events. The bellboy must be familiar with
all aspects of the hotel's services so he can respond to these requests promptly and accurately.
He should also know the surrounding area, transportation options and the closest locations for
guests to purchase essential personal items, souvenirs.

Clean, wash and sort plates, glassware, spoons, forks, bowls, pots, pans and other

quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying
trends and determining system improvements. Furthermore, sustaining financial security by
establishing good internal control form part of his/her responsibilities. It is also the Head
Accounting Officers obligation to protect the entitys value through information
confidentiality.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The Accounting Officer is expected to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Prepare the annual budget, schedule outflows, analyze variances, initiate corrective
actions and forecast requirements.
Check financial standing by keeping track of revenue and expenses, synchronizing the

hotel.

The Maintenance Manager is expected to accomplish the following duties and
responsibilities:
Inspect work for conformance to prescribed standards.
Investigate complaints regarding the maintenance services and take corrective action
with regard to said complaints.
Obtain the list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs
or discharges to prepare work assignments.

which are generally required for the effective output. They are assigned to check the quality
and quantity of all new incoming textiles to certify that it meets the companys standards.
They are required to understand and follow the procedures/rules set out by the company.

The Linen-room Attendants are expected to accomplish the following duties and
responsibilities:
Placie linen and uniforms in containers for transport to laundry.
Sort items, count and record the number of items soiled that needs laundering.

The All-Around Technicians are expected to accomplish the following duties and
responsibilities:
Order and gather components and parts needed in resolving technical issues.
Troubleshoot breakdowns, maintain supplies, perform preventive maintenance and
call for repairs.
Install or maintain heating systems, repair sanitation systems, fit domestic appliances,
clean air-conditioning units and bathroom repairs.

General Description:
The Security Personnels main duty is to guard against theft and maintain the security
of the premises. Also, they are assigned to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure
security of doors and windows. They are also responsible in screening individuals and
prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas. It also the Security Personnels
duty to circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect
property.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The Security Personnel are expected to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Protect the guests valuables.
Enforce rules.
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, guests, clients and other
persons.
Inform guests they are parked in a restricted area.
Patrol the premises and operate detecting devices.
Write daily reports of irregularities and occurrences.

General Description:
Room attendants are assigned to enter and prepare the room for cleaning. They are to
perform rotation of cleaning duties. They are responsible for securing and checking the rooms
and ensuring security of guest rooms and the privacy of guests. They have the authority to
enter in guestrooms for cleaning and providing turndown services as required. They are to
follow the standard operating procedures of the company and they are responsible for
achieving the guest satisfaction score.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The Room Attendants are expected to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Make the bed, clean the bathroom and clean the closet.
Vacuum and rack the carpet, dust the room and furniture and they replenish bath and
guestroom supplies.
Attend to guest calls and guest requests/complaints in the area which is assigned to
him/her.

Manager advises the front desk officers and the admitting personnel of rooms ready for
occupancy.

The Accommodation Manager are expected to accomplish the following duties and
responsibilities:
Assist the Head Housekeeper in allocating duties and responsibilities to people under
the said department.
Investigate complaints regarding the housekeeping services and take corrective action
with regard to said complaints.
Prepare the report regarding room occupancy.

His/Her main responsibility is to supervise the housekeeping staff. The Head
Housekeeper must report any maintenance faults and other significant matters regarding the
performance of the staff and the condition of the facilities of the hotel. Also, he/she is to make
certain that staff possesses qualities such as punctuality, politeness and helpfulness when
dealing with customers and co-workers to ensure a welcoming and hospitable environment
and workplace. He/She must also be aware of the responsibilities of the housekeeping staff so
as to effectively supervise and assess their performance and to ensure their compliance.

The Head Housekeeper are expected to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Allocate duties to the staff.
Make sure that the rooms and public areas are maintained and cleaned properly and to
follow up on the repair required of the facilities of the hotel.
Ensure adherence to the rules and regulations of management e. g. wearing of
uniforms.
Check the accommodation given to the customer and the customers satisfaction of
the service received.
Inform the staff of the rules and regulations to be observed and the hotel facilities,

processing guest check-outs and the cancellation of the reservation. They are to present
options and alternatives to guests and to offer assistance in making choices. In addition they
are to communicate activities and promote other services offered by the hotel. They also
verify that accuracy of room status information is maintained and properly communicated.
They are to perform cashier related functions like posting charges to guest accounts, raising
paid outs and currency exchange.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The Front-Desk Officers are expected to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Assign the rooms and accommodate special guests if possible.
Assist in preregistration and blocking of rooms for reservation.
Understand room status and room status tracking to avoid conflicts.
Locating the rooms, identifying the types of rooms available, and communicating
room rates.
Coordinate room status updates with the room and maintenance department by
notification of check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests and day

General Description:
Primarily, they are in charge of keeping the hotel clean and in order. They could also
help out in the cleaning of the rooms and replenishment of supplies, helping the front desk
attendants, setting up of events, accommodating the guests, assisting in maintenance activities
and other areas that may require their help.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The Housemen are expected to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Cleaning public areas of the hotel and restaurant such as the lobby, the hallways,
bathrooms and the activity areas.
