Barcoding Process for Product Traceability

The document describes the bar-coding process at a food container manufacturing company to maintain product traceability after sale. Bar codes with 10-digit serial numbers are printed and linked to production orders and characteristics in the barcode system. The bar codes are applied to finished products and scanned to upload to SAP against production orders, confirming production quantities. Products are then traced through dispatch and customer complaints are addressed by scanning bar codes to trace production orders and batches back to raw materials.
