Weekly Newsletter
From the Principal
Halloween is the un-official kick off to the holiday season. It wont be
long until Thanksgiving and Christmas! First things first, please have a
very happy and SAFE Halloween. Please remember to travel in
groups and only travel in areas that you know.
The St. Gabriels Fall Fest is Sunday, November 6th. The organizers
are still looking for volunteers to help in many capacities. The school
is a major beneficiary from the funds raised so if you have time please
consider helping out. This would be a great way to get your family
volunteer credit hours.

Prayer: God
almighty, you sent
your Son to show
us how to spread
your message of
truth. Sometimes
people resist your
Word and there is
conflict and strife.
Guide us toward
finding solutions as
your children of
peace. In Christs
name we pray.
Amen.

Nutrition Nugget: Well see you

at the Saints and
Soles 5K Run/Walk
on Saturday, November 29th!
Also see the note
about the candy
donation to our
troops. Letters are
also welcome as
those deployed
love to read notes
from the kids.

Parent teacher conferences are Tuesday, November 1st and Thursday, November 3rd from 4:00-8:00pm. This meeting is an important event in your
childs development as this allows the family and the school an opportunity
to discuss different aspects. This forum is the best place to ask educators
how you can help your child so please take advantage of this occasion. Parents please log onto Skyward to select your Parent/Teacher Conference date
and time. If you need assistance, please call the school.
November is Prairie Catholics Iowa Testing Window. The middle school will
take their tests on November 8th, 9th and 10th. The elementary will take
their tests throughout the month.
Prairie Catholic is proud to announce that Farm to School will be continued
this year in the elementary classrooms. The students will work with the new
AmeriCorps worker on the first Friday of each month learning and tasting
about local Wisconsin grown foods. As we have the first Friday in November
off, we will meet on the 9th of November.
Any snacks that are featured in the Super Snacks for Super Kids cookbook
(on sale in the school office) meet all nutritional requirements for healthy
snacks. If you are interested in the book contact the school office.
Prairie Catholic School will be a drop site for the Jaycees Operation Santa.
There is a box located inside the front doors by the trophy cases where families can donate new toys, toothbrushes, toothpaste, blankets, hats, mittens
and scarves.
Prairie Catholic will have a drop box in the office for any Halloween candy
that families would like to donate. The collection will be added to the donations at Suppz gym and Czajkowski-Higgins and Tisdale. It will then be
shipped to Operation Gratitude in California, then sent to our deployed
women and men overseas. We will collect until Wednesday, November 2nd.
Thank you.
Note from Matthias Gerhards:
Our 4-H Club needs more members. For middle school it is a good
way to get service hours. You can
do different projects such as: rabbits, cattle, swine, mechanics,
shooting sports, sheep and horse
back riding. There are a lot more .
