INTRODUCTION
It is essential for individual to focus on personal and professional
development in order to acquire required skills and abilities so that individual
must focus on rendering quality treatment and services to their service users
(Martin, 2004). Although, there are different needs and requirement of
patients which needs to be accomplished by the care workers thus, they are
required to and improve certain skills so that they can render quality care
and treatment to their

patients. Moreover, it can be said that developing

and amending the skills of care worker is directly related with providing
effective and quality services to the services users.
For carrying out the study it is essential for understanding that how the
personal values as well as individual principles influences and impacts the
individual contribution within the HSC setting. However, the report will also
understand the application of principles of professional engagement with the
services users which uses HSC services. Lastly, the task has been

1. Compare personal values and principles in HSC and compare them with
principles of support in health care
Within HSC, there are different patients to whom the care worker
renders quality services so that they can provide quality services and
attention to the pateints. However, patients in HSC possess different
personal values and principles which is influenced and affected by the
principles of support within HSC sector (Mary, 2011). There are different
personnel rendering services within the HSC sector that mainly includes care
worker, specialist, professionals as well as consultants that provide quality
services to the patients so that they can easily recover from the illness.
An individual's personal value that is hope, faith, anti-discrimination,
respect, privacy etc. must be taken into consideration by the care worker so
that they can easily carry out their task and activities in the setting (Speed
and Gabe, 2013). For instance; service provider within HSC mainly focuses
on attending the patients that suffers from non-infectious diseases as
compare to infectious diseases. But the principles of support in HSC mainly
focus on respecting all the patients who suffer from various diseases.
Therefore, in such situation care worker has the right to treat all the patients
with different needs so that they can render effective working practices in
the care home (Genkeer and et. al., 2002).

2. How personal and culture and experience influence own role in supporting
the service users and organization & Current legislation and policies and
changes to personal values can impact on work in HSC
Working as a care worker in the care home and hospital individual's
own personal, cultural values and past experiences influence their working
and activities in the HSC setting (Hurst and Patterson, 2014). It can be said
that past experience of care worker also support them in rendering services
to different disease patients as they have the experience to handle that
particular patients. For instance; while serving the patient who is being
diagnosed with the HIV disease, care worker would not disclose their identity
to any other person as disclosing the identity in the past working days will
result in enabling negative environment at the workplace. Patients will not
be able to communicate with them as they are aware that particular patient
is diagnosed with the HIV/AIDS and through talking the virus can be
transmitted to them (Collins, 2009).
Another example include that whether good or bad experience in the
past it would support and affect their services that is being provided to
service users that is in the previous HSC organization patient do not follow
the instructions that are provided by the care worker that lead to arise fed
up situation for the care worker that often result in affecting their services
that they provide to the service users. Through gaining this experience care
worker must concentrate on encouraging their patients so that they may
take proper medication and obey the instruction provided by the care worker
or practitioners (Mulholland and Turnock, 2012).

In order to protect and

safeguard the interest of the service users government or HSC organization


frame and enforced new developments that is new legislation, new priorities,
codes of practices etc. that positively impact the work within HSC setting.

and needs of the patients. The different theories of learning include Honey
and Mumford, Kolb learning, VARK style etc. that support the care worker in
enhancing their learning (Boyatzis and Kolb, 2005).
2.1 Key influence on learning
There are different elements and factors that influences on individual
learning includePrevious learning and experiences- One of the major key that influences
the individual learning within the HSC setting include past or previous
experiences. Past experiences support the individual care worker in
amending the required skills and abilities that they require in the
contemporary scenario to recover their patients from the illness (Currie,
2007).
Formal versus informal learning- Another factor that influence the
learning include selecting the appropriate learning method that would
enhance the skills and abilities as well as knowledge that will be fruitful for
the HSC organization as well as to the services user also. Formal learning
focuses on classroom learning that outcome in gaining practical knowledge
for rendering services to different disease patients.
Learning style- Another factor that influences individual learning include
adopting effective learning style that suits the individual in acquiring

issues that has been encountered within the professional relationship
include through providing proper training to the professional and care
worker so that they may resolve the issues sand problem in the
effective manner (New developments in health and social care, 2015).
Discussion- Another method that may be used in the Day care centre
to resolve the issues arises in the care home by patients roaming out
of the care home. With the help of proper discussion they can easily
maintain the relationship with professionals and patients with different
mental health condition, dementia, learning disabilities etc.
