Monarch High School Choir Recruitment

The Monarch High School Performing Arts Department offers several choir options for students in grades 9-12. The choirs include Concert Choir, which does not require an audition and is open to all students; Chaos, an all-male choir without auditions; Chamber Choir, an all-female auditioned choir; and Madrigal Singers, a mixed auditioned choir that is the top choral group. All choirs perform in fall, winter, and spring concerts as well as other opportunities. The department also produces an annual musical theatre production in collaboration with the entire department.

MONARCH HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR

The Performing Arts Department at Monarch High School is a very


integral and successful part of the school. All groups perform a
fall/winter concert, spring concert and perform in the annual pops
show. Performance opportunities outside of school often are involved
as well.
Choirs offered at MHS include the following:

CONCERT CHOIR
SATB; 9th Grade 12th Grade *No Audition Required* (Course # N60)
This is a mixed ensemble choir for all singers who want a good variety of music (pop,
show, folk, classical, etc.). All incoming freshmen to MHS join this choir for their first
year!

CHAOS
TTBB; 9th Grade 12th Grade *No Audition Required* (Course # N50)
This mens group is open to all men who want to sing a variety of popular and fun
favorites!

CHAMBER CHOIR
SSAA Audition Only; 10th Grade 12th Grade (Course # N62)
This auditioned all womens choir performs upper-level music from all periods, styles
and genres.

MADRIGAL SINGERS
SATB Audition Only; 10th Grade 12th Grade (Course # N64)
This auditioned mixed choir performs advanced music from all periods, styles and
genres. This is Monarchs top choral group and frequently performs throughout the
school year.
The Monarch Performing Arts Department also yearly presents a MUSICAL THEATRE
PRODUCTION which is a collaboration effort across the entire department. We are
VERY excited about the musical production for the 2016-2017 school year and hope
you will join us! More information will be published over the summer with auditions
occurring before Thanksgiving Break in November. The production will be in March
2017! Watch for the announcement of the chosen show soon!
Not registered for a choir for next year but want to join? Talk to your MHS
Counselor to add choir to your schedule for next year! We would love to have you
join us!
