deal of statistical information, allowing
professionals to compare a particular
students performance with that of
other pupils in the normative group.

better for guiding instructional.

in instructional planning, decision
making and in monitoring progress
toward educational goals.

used with students with learning
disabilities because it reinforces the
important link between assessment
and instruction.
