RNC Data Collector Overview and Functions

The RNC Data Collector solution consists of two main functionalities: a Data Collector called Megamon that gathers data from an interface process within the RNC, and a Data Analyzer/L3 Viewer called Emil that parses the collected data. The solution involves three processes - an interface process within the RNC, a Data Collection process using Megamon to gather data from the interface process, and a Data Analyzer process using Emil to parse the data collected by Megamon. One Megamon server is required for each RNC to collect data from the RNC's interface process and provide it to the Data Analyzer.

Data Collection process for gathering data from interface process
Data Analyzer process covering data parsing from the Data Collector
Next slides presents the basic configuration environment for the Megamon,
showing the interworking functions between the MegaMon server and its pair
RNC. Note that one (1) MegaMon server is needed for every RNC.
