The Golden Egg
Good morning to the teachers and my fellow friends.
The title of my story is The Golden Egg.
Ben, a poor barber lived alone in his small hut.
One evening, while Ben was walking home from
work, he saw a hen clucking painly in a bush beside the
road. The hens leg was broken. Ben took the hen home
and treated its leg.
The next morning, Ben found a golden egg lying
outside his hut and the hen sitting beside it. Ben was
happy.
From that day onwards, the hen would lay a golden
egg everyday. Ben took good care of the hen. Very soon,
Ben became rich.
But he became greedy. He thought, If I cut open
the hens stomach, I can get out all the golden eggs at
once. I do not have to wait everyday."
That night, he killed the hen. But he found no even one
golden egg.
What have I done? My greed had made me kill the
hen," he cried. But it was too late. The moral of the
story is dont be greedy. Thank you.
The
Foolish Fish
Good morning to the teachers and my fellow friends.
The title of my story is The Foolish Fish.
In a big pond, there lived many fish. They were rude
and never listened to anyone. In this pond, there also
lived a kind crocodile.
He always advised the fish, It does not pay to be rude
and overconfident. But the fish never listened to him.
One day, the crocodile was resting near the pond, when
two men stopped there to drink water.
Look! This pond is full of fish. Lets come here
tomorrow for fishing net," said one of them.
The crocodile heard all this. He went straight to the fish.
You all had better leave this pond before dawn.
Tomorrow two men are going to come with their net,"
warned the crocodile.
But the fish just laughed and said, Many fishermen
tried to catch us, but cant. So dont worry about us, Mr.
Crocodile," they said. One good turn deserves
another. Thank you.
The next day, the men came and all the fish were
caught. If only we had listened to Mr. Crocodile. For
our rude we have to pay with our lives," said the fish.
The moral of the story is dont be overconfident.
Thank you
The Greedy Dog
Good morning to the teachers and my fellow friends.
The title of my story is The Greedy Dog.
Once there lived a dog. He was very greedy. One day,
the dog was terribly hungry.
He started sniffing around for food. Suddenly, he saw a
bone lying at a distance.
The hungry dog picked up the bone and he thought, I
dont want to share it with anyone. So, I had better go
home and eat it." Holding the bone in his mouth, he ran
towards his house.
While crossing a wooden bridge, the dog looked down
into the river. There he saw his own reflection. There is
another dog in the water with bone in its mouth," he
thought. How nice if I have two bones."
So, he looked down and barked, Woof! Woof!" As he
opened his mouth, the bone in his mouth fell into the
river.
When the water splashed, the greedy dog realized that
what he had seen was his his own reflections. But it was
too late. He had lost the piece of bone because of his
greed. Now he had to go hungry.
The moral of the story is dont be greedy.
The Lion and The Mouse.
Good morning to the teachers and my fellow friends.
The title of my story is The Lion and The Mouse.
A lion was sleeping in a forest. A mouse started
playing on it. The lion was disturbed and awake from
his sleep. It caught up the mouse angrily and tried to
crush it to death.
Then the mouse prayed the lion to leave him off and
said that it would help him when it needed. The lion
laughed at it and let him off.
One day the lion was caught in a net spread by a
hunter. It roared and tried to escape but in vain. The
mouse heared the lion's roaring and came there. It
started cutting the net with its teeth. The lion escaped
and thanked the mouse.
The moral of the story is one good turn deserves
another. Thank you.

The Tortoise and the Hare
One day a hare was bragging about how fast he could run.
He bragged and bragged and even laughed at the tortoise, who
was so slow. The tortoise stretched out his long neck and
challenged the hare to a race, which, of course, made the hare
laugh.
"My, my, what a joke!" thought the hare.
"A race, indeed, a race. Oh! what fun! My, my! a race, of
course, Mr. Tortoise, we shall race!" said the hare.
The forest animals met and mapped out the course. The race
begun, and the hare, being such a swift runner, soon left the
tortoise far behind. About halfway through the course, it occurred
to the hare that he had plenty of time to beat the slow trodden
tortoise.
"Oh, my!" thought the hare, "I have plenty of time to play in
the meadow here."
And so he did.
After the hare finished playing, he decided that he had time to
take a little nap.
"I have plenty of time to beat that tortoise," he thought. And
he cuddle up against a tree and dozed.
The tortoise, in the meantime, continued to plod on, albeit, it
ever so slowly. He never stopped, but took one good step after
another.
The hare finally woke from his nap. "Time to get going," he
thought. And off he went faster than he had ever run before! He
dashed as quickly as anyone ever could up to the finish line,
where he met the tortoise, who was patiently awaiting his arrival.
Slow and steady wins the race.
A Wise Old Owl
There was an old owl that lived in an oak. Everyday he saw incidents happening around
him. Yesterday he saw a boy helping an old man to carry a heavy basket. Today he saw a
girl shouting at her mother. The more he saw the less he spoke.
As he spoke less, he heard more. He heard people talking and telling stories. He heard a
woman saying that an elephant jumped over a fence. He also heard a man saying that he
had never made a mistake.
The old owl had seen and heard about what happened to people. Some became better
and some became worse. But the old owl had become wiser each and every day.
Moral of the story :
You should be observant, talk less but listen more. This will make you a wise person.
Baa Baa Black Sheep
There lived a black sheep in a nearby village. Every spring, he shaved his black wool and
sold it to the villagers. The villagers made sweaters and socks from his black wool.
One day, the black sheep noticed that he had some more wool left. He thought, It would
be such a waste if nobody wants to buy the wool.
That afternoon, an old man came over to his wooden shed to see him. He wanted one
bag full of the black sheeps wool. Then an old woman came over. She also wanted a bag
full of wool. A short while later, a little boy arrived. He also wanted one bag full of wool.
Therefore, the black sheep prepared three bags full of wool for them. He was happy that
all of his wool was sold off.
The fox and The Grapes
Good morning to the teachers and my fellow friends.
The title of my story is The Fox and The Grapes
One afternoon a fox was walking through the forest
and saw a bunch of grapes hanging from over a lofty
branch. "Just the thing to quench my thirst," quoted the
fox.
Taking a few steps back, the fox jumped and just
missed the hanging grapes. Again the fox took a few
paces back and tried to reach them but still failed.
Finally, giving up, the fox turned up his nose and said,
"They're probably sour anyway," and proceeded to walk
away.
The moral of the story is its easy to desise what you
cannot have. Thank you
The Ant and the Grasshopper
Good morning to the teachers and my fellow friends.
The title of my story is The Ant and the Grasshopper
In a field one summer's day a Grasshopper was
hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart's
content.
An Ant passed by, bearing along with great effort an
ear of corn he was taking to the nest.
"Why not come and chat with me," said the
Grasshopper, "instead of toiling and moiling away?" "I
am helping to lay up food for the winter," said the Ant,
"and recommend you to do the same."
"Why bother about winter?" said the Grasshopper; "we
have got plenty of food at present."
But the Ant went on its way and continued its toil.
When the winter came the Grasshopper found itself
dying of hunger, while it saw the ants distributing, every
day, corn and grain from the stores they had collected in
the summer.
Then the Grasshopper knew...
MORAL: WORK TODAY AND YOU CAN REAP
THE BENEFITS TOMORROW! Thank you.
The Greedy Mouse
A greedy mouse saw a basket full of corn. He wanted to eat it. So he made a small hole in the
basket. He squeezed in through the hole. He ate a lot of corn. He felt full. He was very happy.
Now he wanted to come out. He tried to come out through the small hole. He could not. His belly
was full. He tried again. But it was of no use.
The mouse started crying. A rabbit was passing by. It heard the mouses cry and asked: Why are
you crying my friend?
The mouse explained: I made a small hole and came into the basket. Now I am not able to get
out through that hole.
The rabbit said: It is because you ate too much. Wait til your belly shrinks. The rabbit laughed
and went away.
The mouse fell asleep in the basket. Next
morning his belly had shrunk. But the mouse wanted to eat some corn. So he ate and ate. His
belly was full once again. He thought: Oh! Now I will go out tomorrow.
The cat was the next passerby. He smelt the mouse in the basket. He lifted its lid. He ate the
mouse.
Three Sons and a Bundle of Sticks
Once upon a time, an old man lived with his three sons in a village. All his three sons were hard
workers. Still, none of them agreed with each other and quarrelled all the time. The old man tried
a lot to unite them but he failed. While the villagers were surprised at their hard work and efforts,
they also made fun of them on their fights.
Months passed by and the old man fell sick. He talked to his sons to stay united, but none of his
sons heard his words. So, he decided to teach them a practical lesson so that they would shed off
their differences and stay united.
The old man called as his sons. He told them, I will give you a bundle of sticks. Separate each
stick and you will have to break each stick into pieces of two. The one who breaks the sticks
quickly will be rewarded more.
All sons agreed.
The old man gave a bundle of 10 sticks to everyone of them and asked to break it into pieces. All
the sons broke the sticks into pieces in minutes.
And again they started to quarrel among themselves as who came first.
The old man said, Dear sons, the game is not over. Now I will give another bundle of sticks to all
of you. You will have to break the sticks as a bundle, not as separate sticks.
The sons agreed and began to break the bundle of sticks. Unfortunately, they could not break the
bundle. They tried very hard but failed to complete the task.
All sons said to the father about their failure.
The old man replied, Dear sons, See! You could easily
break the single sticks into pieces, but you were not able to break the bundle! The sticks were
same. So, if you stay united, nobody can make any harm to you. If you quarrel every time with
your brothers, anyone can easily defeat you. I request you to stay united.
The three sons understood the power of unity and promised their father that whatever be the
problem, they would all stay together.
Moral: Unity is Strength!
The Ant and the Dove
Good morning to the teachers and my fellow friends.
The title of my story is The Ant and the Dove
One hot day, an ant was searching for some water.
After walking around for some time, she came to a
spring. To reach the spring, she had to climb up a blade
of grass. While making her way up, she slipped and fell
into the water.
She could have drowned if a dove up a nearby
tree had not seen her. Seeing that the ant was in trouble,
the dove quickly plucked off a leaf and dropped it into
the water near the struggling ant.
The ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up
there. Soon it carried her safely to dry ground. Just at
that time, a hunter nearby was throwing out his net
towards the dove, hoping to trap it.
Guessing what he was about to do, the ant quickly
bit him on the heel. Feeling the pain, the hunter dropped
his net. The dove was quick to fly away to safety.
The moral of the story is One good turn deserves
another. Thank you.
