Repair and Maintenance Record
OSHAs Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 29 Part 1910.179
requires the owners and operators of cranes to perform routine
inspections of their cranes and maintain a record of these
inspections. Repairs and maintenance performed on cranes are
also to be recorded.
The following items are to be inspected on a daily basis or for
less active cranes, prior to its use. Additional daily or monthly
checks may be required based on the type of crane and its use.
Consult the cranes owners manual for additional requirements.
