The strange noise
Its Friday evening, half past nine. Julie is alone in her house and she likes it. So she can watch TV, listen to
music and read a good book. This day there is a good film on TV. Its a romantic film and Julie loves films. So she is
sitting on the sofa and eating some chips when the film starts. The girl is very happy.
But whats that? Suddenly she hears a strange noise. She is at the window. Theres nothing in the garden. Five
minutes later she hears the noise again. She is scared, but she doesnt know what to do. So she phones her parents
with her mobile phone, but there is no answer, because they are at the cinema. There is no one in the garden.
Then again, she hears the noise. So she phones her best friend Sue. Sue, help me. Im alone at home and there
are strange noises. Can you come to my place? Julie says. But her friend cant come, because she is playing cards
with her parents.
Julie is angry and scared. She goes back to the sofa to sit down. But then suddenly she starts to laugh. While she
is sitting on the sofa she is looking outside through the big glass door she sees her little cat Jenny. The cat is
meowing because it wants to come into the house. Julie opens the door and her cat comes in.
Then they watch the love film together and Julie is happy again.
