AIMS: to give students practice in comprehension, speaking, skills
to inroduce vocabulary related to body parts
LANGUAGE FUNCTIONS: Speaking about parts of body.
Expressing possession. Instructions
ASSUMED KNEWLEDGE: The students are familiar with objects
from the classroom, with family membres,
things in the street, building, toys, things
from the kitchen, about clothes and
possession, numbers 1-10, expresing a wish,
colours, time, counting, describing.
ANTICIPETED PROBLEMS: If students will not understand the
meaning of some words like neck,
feet, or something else it will be
explained and illustrated.
AIDS/MATERIALS: Students book, pictures with body parts, realia,
flash cards

Lesson stage I: PRESENTATION
Activity 1: Warmer
Aims: to warm students up
to have a guided dialogue
Interactions: teacher-student; student-teacher
Procedure: The teacher will start the activity with a song called
Head and shoulders.
Head and shoulders,
Knees and toes
Knees and toes
And eyes and ears
And mouth and nose
And mouth and nose.
She is going to ask some questions regarding the students
names, colour of their clothes and identify some objects
(chair, table, wall, blackoard, etc) drawn on flash cards.
Ex.: Look at this pictures. What is this? The children
will answer : This is a desk. ; What is this? This
is a chair.
Activity 2 : Cheching the previous knowledge
Aims: to build a human body
Interaction: teacher student, student teacher
Procedure: The teacher will use some flash cards displayed on the
blackboard which contain geometrical forms.
Ex.: Look at this picture. What is this? The children
will answer: This is a circle.; What is this? This
is an oblong.; What is this? This is square.;
What is this? This is a triangle.
When the children identify these geometrical forms they
will build a human body.
Ex.: What can we build with these geometrical forms?
We can build a human body.
Activity 3: Leed in
Teaching the new vocabuary
Aims: to practice the parts of the body
Interaction: teacher student, student teacher
Procedure: The teacher displayes the poster with a human body.
She is using questions to identify and name all of the
body parts. Ex.: What is this? This is a head. ;
What do we have on the head? On the head we have
hair.; What are these? These are eyes. So on.
Lesson stage II: PRACTICE
Activity 4:
Aims: to name the body parts shown on separate flash cards
Interection: teacher student, student teacher
Procedure: The teacher will display the pictures including the
body parts shown in a separat flash cards. Ex.: What is
this? This is a leg... I will do this with all parts
of body.
Lesson stage III: USE
Activity 5: Pair work
Aims: to have every student involued in the activity
to practice the new words they learned
to use them in a dialogue
Interaction: teacher student; student student
Procedure: Two pupils will come in font of the classroom. One will
have in his hands a flash cards which illustrates one part
of the body. He will ask the other :What is this?. The
other pupil will answer: This is a hand. ..1-5.
Activity 6: Ending the lesson
Aims: to draw a human body on the blackboard
Interaction: teacher student
Procedure: The teacher will name a child to come in front of the
classroom for drawing a human body. The children are
going to draw a similar drawing on papers prepaired by
the teacher.
