Curriculum
Bible: The book of James is our focus at the beginning of 2nd grade. We
are learning important ways to live the Christian life.
Reading: We will focus on the characters and the setting of stories. In
grammar we will be working on statements, questions, and fragments.
Students will also be reviewing putting words in alphabetical order.
Vowac: Our focus is short or long vowels and open or closed syllables. We
will also work on magic e words in words such as cake, time, and June.
Math: We will be working on place value this week.
Science: We will be learning about Monarch Butterflies and their
fascinating life cycle. If you see any eggs or caterpillars on milkweed
please send them to school. We have a butterfly cage to put them in.
Art: Students will be learning about different types of lines.

Memory Work

life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us.
