Cause & Effect Puzzler

In each puzzle below, write a cause on the first puzzle piece and an effect on the
second puzzle piece. When you are finished show them to your teacher. Then cut
them out and trade puzzle pieces with a partner. Try and put your partners puzzle
pieces together by matching the correct causes with the correct effects.

Cause & Effect Cards

Cut out the cards on the next two pages. Get with a partner to play the
following card game:
1. Mix all the cards up like you would a regular deck of cards. Put the
cards face down between you and your partner. Each person draws 7
cards. Dont let your partner see your cards. Take the top card from
the pile and place it face up next to the pile .
2. Check your hand for pairs. A pair is a matching cause and effect. If
you already have a pair in your hand, you may place the pair(s) in front
of you. However, your partner MUST agree that the pair is a true cause
and effect.
3. Take turns picking up a card either from the face up pile or the face
down pile. If you pick up a match during your turn, place the pair in
front of you. Again, your partner MUST agree that the pair is a true
cause and effect match.
4. The game is over when one or both player(s) has no cards left and the
winner of the game is the player with the most pairs.
