Site Inspection Report

This site inspection report summarizes the findings of an inspection of the construction site for the SCJM Convent & Day Care Centre project in Edapally, Cochin. Summary
Introduction
SCJM Convent and day care centre is a G + 3 building occupying located near Edapally, Cochin. The area of
different floors is as follows:
Ground Floor- 946.83 sqm
Other Floors- 899.25 sqm
Terrace Floor- 138.14 sqm
Two bore holes were taken at the site during soil investigation and both presents nearly consistent N values.
The site is having Clayed Sand and Clayed Silt up to 13.5 metre. Thereafter fine silty sand with clay is present
up to 17 metre. After 17 metre very fine silty sand with N value greater than 50 is available. Based on the
available soil test report, bored cast in situ DMC piles resting in hard rock is recommended for the above
building.

Inspection procedure
This inspection was conducted in accordance with the standard procedures. The findings in the inspection are
summarized below:-

Findings
The key findings are summarised below: Out of total 75 piles, 22 were casted in the site at the time of inspection.
Depth of piles varies in the range of 17 metres to 21 metres at site.
All the piles are embedded into hard rock by minimum of 50cm
Grade of concrete used is of M35 and Reinforcing Steel is of Fe 500.
Clear cover of 75mm is provided all around for all piles.
Materials used for construction is of approved quality.
Rock samples are inspected and are found to be satisfactory.

Conclusion
From the information made available during the site inspection, the contractor has been found conform to the
required standards.
